New Feature on the Website!

Actually, two.

First, you may have noticed that from time to time the videos would display an error message something along the lines of "Video unavailable right now, try again later." This was due to a bug in Blogger and they apparently haven't figured out how to fix it. So from now on, the videos will be embedded from Youtube, so hopefully you won't have anymore videos refusing to play! Let us know if you have any trouble with the videos from now on.

Second, if you visit our website, you will see we have added a new tab called "Microblog." A boring title, isn't it? We'll change it eventually and make the whole set-up more pretty. But for now, it is what it is. The idea behind the microblog is for me to be able to give "mini-updates" throughout the day for those of you who care to know what we're doing at the time. This feature will be lots of fun when we're out and about (like on our upcoming trip to Texas). I am able to update the microblog from my phone with text, pictures, and videos--no computer required! So now you can keep up with the adorableness of Aurora in almost realtime! :) Thank you to Tumblr for providing this service.

Finally, here's a little video for you to enjoy since I promised another one this week: Aurora playing with our ceiling fan remote.

Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery

I was sitting in the middle of our living room folding clean laundry, Aurora was wandering around the house with a pair of my underwear around her neck. (Whatever floats her boat....) I came across a rather pitifully failed craft project I had been attempting to make better. I held it up and sighed heavily. Aurora stopped what she was doing, sat down next to the pile of laundry, grabbed another clean piece and sighed heavily. I laughed; she laughed. Then she stood up, put another pair of underwear over her head and wandered off.

Sometimes I really wonder what's going on inside her head.... :)

Catching Up

We've been taking turns being sick, but are finally mostly feeling good, so it's time to catch up on the blog again!

I think that Aurora is positively at her most adorable when she's waking up from a nap. I guess I like sleepy babies. I managed to sneak in to her room when she was just beginning to wake up and catch her on video. (Sorry for those of you with slower connections, this video is significantly longer than the ones I typically post.)

Later that day, Aurora discovered how much fun it is to knock down things that other people have built. :) We recently received some large, cardboard bricks and although Aurora doesn't build with them by herself yet, she sure loves trying to keep us from building anything!

Well, that's all for now! More videos later this week!

Bowl Silliness

Aurora loves bowls. She likes to carry them around, put things in them, and make great noises by banging on them with wooden spoons.

But most of all she likes to....

Sit in them!!

So much fun!

Falling over...

And standing up!!

Oh, you never knew the fun you could have with a bowl, did you? :D

Aurora's Idea of Fun

Aurora recently discovered two new ways to have fun: gathering and carrying small toys around by sticking them down the front of her shirt and bowl sitting.

Here's where she's first figuring out that there's an inside to her onesie. What a concept!

After a while, Aurora had managed to gather up all of the small toys that easily fit into her shirt and was walking around making a rather funny clinking noise. You should be able to hear it on this video. Now Aurora experiments with larger toys....

We've had to frisk her every time we're leaving the house or another place with toys (like the church nursery) because more often than not, she has some random small toy hidden inside her shirt. The silly girl has tried to make off with a number of little people toys from various church nurseries. :)

And second new skill: bowl sitting. Earlier in the day she had a much better aim, but it's still funny to watch her

Apparently putting toys into the bowl first helps her aim her sitting better...

Our little turkey has also learned to stand up on her rocking horse (that didn't take long--only one week of having it!) and how to climb from her chair up to the window sill. She's certainly keeping us busy!
